What is everyone doing tonight/tomorrow? I'll be celebrating the holidays with my family, which is lovely as I was all the way on the other side of the world last year. We won't do anything spectacular, just cook/bake a lot (already made cookies and chocolate pudding today), watch Christmas movies and generally spend more time together which is always a good thing. And of course there is a new Doctor Who episode on TV as well as Hamlet (which, according to a Dutch TV-guide, stars some bloke called Danny Tennant... lol), for which I am super excited :D
Anyway, regardless of whether you celebrate Christmas or not I hope each and every one of you has a few wonderful days *squishes* ♥
(Who else is super-mega-jump-around-the-house-excited for the Doctor Who Christmas Special this year?! John Simm is back! And he's a white-haired pretty boy! OMG!)
Happy Holidays! Merry Christhaunakwanza! Enjoy Gurnenthar's Ascendance!
Hope you had a great Yule and Winter Solstice! Happy Hogswatch! Thank you, and goodnight!
Title: Unwrapping
Rating: R for general kinkiness and a rather steamy scene.
Word Count: 1,033 (aprox.)
Pairings, Characters: Inskara and Spoonkara, hints of Inspoonkara.
Disclaimer: I own nothing, Linkara can be found HERE, Insano and Spoony can be found HERE, and all of them can also be found HERE.
Warnings: Slash, obviously. Kinky foreplay. Hints of a threesome. A twist, of sorts.
A/N: A PWP continuation of
awesome_emmy ’s awesome Christmas fic. Because it had to be done. I had far too much fun writing this, especially when I started listening to tango music when I was writing the foreplay bit.

Cowboy Bebop - I finished the series two nights ago. Wow. That was ... that was pretty amazing. I've been watching it for a while now, and with each episode (particularly the ones in S2) the fact that this will probably be my favorite show EVER (tied with Firefly and Phineas and Ferb, which, if you know me, is saying something) was cemented again and again. I can literally find NO FAULTS in the WHOLE SHOW. I wouldn't change a thing, not even the ending (which made me tear up, mostly because it was so fitting and perfect and I COULD NOT FIND FAULT WITH IT, DAMMIT! *cries*) Go watch it. Seriously. If you like anime, watch it. If you don't like anime, give this show a try.
A Very Potter Musical - I watched that last night, at the bequest of my friend. And, true to her word, it was TOTALLY AWESOME! (And now I want to ship Voldemort/Quirrell, who would have thought I'd ever want to do that?!) If you haven't seen it, go watch it on youtube, it really has to be seen to be believed. Draco Malfoy was utterly fabulous! RUMBLEROAAAAAAAAAR! Lampshade hanging! *SQUEE*
Alice - I watched that today, and it was ... really good. Overall I liked it better than Tin Man. The universe, the characters, the story, all stacked up together it got a higher score from me than Tin Man did. Not to say that Tin Man wasn't awesome (it was) but some of the cliches grated and Azkadellia's blatant clevage fanservice got real old real fast.
While I feel they could have fleshed things out a bit more the potential was there and you could tell that a lot of thought and effort went into Alice. So many cool visuals! HATTER! (OMG, Hatter. He was like a really young Claude Raines with a Nice Hat, what's not to love?!)
Tim Curry's one-scene-wonder was rather frightening and I LOVED what little we saw of the Resistance.
As contrived as it was I did like that Alice was fully capable of kicking ass and saving herself.
The White Knight was PERFECT; Matt Frewer had better win something for playing that part!
Kathy Bates was cool initially but lacked the pizazz I've seen from her in the past. I can't put my finger on it, but ... something was lacking.
The costuming was FANTASTIC, most notably the diamonds in the Casino (you know the ones I mean. The fanservicey ones.)
I loved the steampunk/cyberpunk feel of the whole world, and the dichotomy between bright and colorful (the Casino and the Tea Shop) and grimy Earth Tones (pretty much everything else.)
Compared to other things it might fall a bit short, drag a little, become a tad predictable (yeah, it kinda was) but I enjoyed every minute and I reccomend it to you, my flist.
(P.S. What's up with Sci-Fi becoming Sy-Fy? I think it looks really stupid, personally, but as I don't even have cable it's not really on my radar.)

It's during the college years, because Giles owns the Magic Box at that point.
The camera pans past this banner they've put up in the Magic box that says "Remember: Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, Yule, and ____'s Ascension Are Coming Up!"
Which episode is this from, and whose ascension is coming up?

Yes, bagpipes ARE awesome. And Weird Al is pretty cool. And the Christmas Carol gags were great. And your family is awesome. And Monty Python jokes are always fun. And I love you, Linkara.
Moving on, is anyone else getting REALLY anxious about the Mechakara showdown? The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come has ALWAYS freaked me the hell out, regardless of what adaption it's in (though the Muppet one was pretty dang creepy cause it never spoke at all in such a loud, crazy movie, and the Mickey Mouse one ... *shudders* Oh god, I had trouble sleeping the night I saw THAT.) "The day of reckoning is at hand." ULP!
I really melted when he wished us a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. *swoons* (Oh, I really need to get a boyfriend. Or girlfriend. I highly doubt that a man whom I've written disturbing fanfiction about will ever date me. *sighs*) Ah well, I'm off to write more disturbing fanfiction! Wheeeeeee!
Not being a man or a huge fan of the action adventure genre, I don't think I'm qualified to say what I think the 'best' is.
But ... some that I think were pretty good are, in no particular order:
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Get Smart
Mission Impossible
|| Sad Tune : Doctor Who OST - "This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home"

In honour of the start of the Tenth Doctor's final two-parter next week - The End of Time - I wanted to make a picspam of his most memorable scenes/episodes. It took a lot longer to make than I expected (though obviously it was no punishment having to rewatch all these episodes again to get the quotes to match the pictures), but I am fairly certain I managed to include all the moments that impressed me the most while watching them the first time around. The ones that made me laugh the hardest, cry the most and broke my heart. Ten is my Doctor and I will really miss him :(
The fact that AVATAR has been sponsering the Writer's Block questions for the past week.
(Ok ok, real reason: blue elf people! Woot! Yes, I actually am that shallow from time to time. I probably won't see the movie in theaters but I'll probably see it when it's out on DVD, with a group of equally geeky - and probably male - friends.)
Speaking of Avatar ... what about The Last Airbender?! I'm nervous/excited/interested/scared about that movie!
|| Cold Tune : Josh Groban - "What Child is This?"
I still haven't finished my travel recaps from this Summer (I think I have about 5 to go all-together from the US and Tokyo) nor do I think I have ever posted pics/info from my holiday to Texel or trip to Utrecht in October, but I hope I'll get to those eventually. For now some pictures from Haarlem, where I went to last weekend with my mother and sister. It's a big city located not too far from Amsterdam but for some reason we have never been there before (even though I used to live in Rotterdam, which is also in the West of the Netherlands). It took us three hours and four train switches to get there, but it was worth it. We'll certainly go again as soon as our busy schedules allow us to as it really blew us away with its awesomeness.
Not only is Haarlem an absolutely gorgeous city like so many in the Netherlands (mostly architectural wise, see pictures), it was also a fantastic shopping place with lots of interesting and different cute little stores. From the smallest store in Haarlem, barely big enough to turn around in but until the ceiling filled with gifts, to shops selling special cheeses. And from antique stores to ones selling many food specialties from other cultures.
Plus we were super lucky that besides the Christmas decorations we happened to go the one day they had the Anton Pieck parade in the city! Anton Pieck was a Dutch artist who lived in the last century and drew lovely sceneries like THIS. The people portrayed on his work look very "Dickens" and so as you can imagine a lot of people were dressed up like that in Haarlem this past weekend, which really gave it all an even more Chrismassy feel.
I didn't buy too much in the end, or at least not what I had planned. I really wanted to get some Christmas gifts but I couldn't find anything I was happy with. I did buy some Christmas decorations for myself (including a few awesome tree decorations painted in the famous Delft blue design) as this year reindeer seem to be really popular (even more so than usual) and I love them so I wanted to take advantage of the overflow of choices I had. We finished the day with dinner at a delicious Indian restaurant (my mum had okra, I had lamb curry and my sis chicken curry and we also had mango lassi and cheese naan) and nom nom nom! It was an awesome day :D
( Pictures behind the cut )
Firstly, I finished my personal writings and tweaked my essay to perfection.
Secondly, I watched some Eddie Izzard videos at lunch and introduced someone to the genius that is the hysterical Mr. Izzard.
And thirdly, I got to watch two attractive guys dance together for the movie.
A lot of the cast and crew were giggling and grinning like loons and trying to watch, and eventually we all got shunted off to the lobby, but a few of us were able to peer through windows at odd angles and wander over to get water or conviniently have to tie our shoes right in front of the doors (which are the sort that have windows in them.)

Pfew, I (finally) finished watching my shows, hope I didn't miss anything. At least the holiday hiatus is going on so I only have like four shows this week (well, that and the Tennant/DW stuff on BBC). Before my reviews, here's some links:
• A scene from Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: Toby and the boys play Wii bowling <3
• Eight page (!) long interview with David Tennant from the latest Doctor Who Magazine as well as his interview from Radio Times.
• From that same DWM issue a fantastic interview with John Simm ("I am David's Master" <3).
• Awesome new clip from The End of Time, featuring my two favourite characters. (it's spoilery, yes, but er... I am too impatient to wait for Christmas day. I am watching every promo I can get my hands on!).
